Protesters at the state capitol grounds protesting Friday's ruling.
On Friday, June 24, 2022, the U.S. Supreme Court issued a ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization overturning the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision ruling that legalized abortion across America. The ruling was met with both celebration in metro Phoenix with anti-choice advocates holding a press conference lauding the decision, and dismay with pro-choice protesters hitting the streets for an evening march to the state capitol. The gathering was later dispersed with tear gas.
