Location, location, location. As any party-planning pro will tell you, picking the right venue for your event is crucial. Good thing, then, that the Valley is full of restaurants decked out with cozy chef’s tables, twinkling patios and outdoor fireplaces — plus rooms with sophisticated distinctions including amber chandeliers, private bars and incredible views.

Arrowhead Grill

8280 W. Union Hills Drive, Glendale
Set at the northeast corner of 83rd Avenue and Union Hills Drive, Arrowhead Grill is a northwest Valley restaurant with a steakhouse and seafood menu overseen by chef Charles Wade Schwerd. Arrowhead Grill also features private dining ideal for business meetings, private parties and special events with a separate entrance to the patio and custom dining options. The 750-square-foot private dining room seats 50 guests.

Phoenix City Grille

5816 N. 16th St.
Nestled in the Bethany East Shopping Center south of 16th Street and Bethany Home Road, Phoenix City Grille offers private dining in two spaces: the East Room and the West Room. The West Room can host up to 28 people, while the more intimate East Room can hold 12 — or you can combine the two to hold an event for 50. Phoenix City Grille’s American menu can be customizable for private dining, and a cash or open bar can be provided.

The Farm at South Mountain, set at the southwest corner of 32nd Street and Southern Avenue, hosts several dining options, including Quiessence at The Farm, which in turn, has several options for private dining. The Private Solarium features indoor dining and outdoor cocktail space for up to 40 guests, the Fireplace Room seats up to 15 and the Tamarisk Sunset Patio allows for outdoor dining in the garden, capping at 40 guests. The entirety of the Quiessence restaurant can be reserved for ultimate privacy. For extra-large events, other options at the Farm include the Stone Grove and the Canopy in the Grove.

Citizen Public House

7111 E. Fifth Ave., Scottsdale
Whether you're entertaining eight people or a few dozen, Citizen Public House has the space you need. The sleek but comfortable restaurant in Old Town Scottsdale offers everything from a 16-seat semi-private atrium to a 10-seat family-room table — as well as a 26-seat private speakeasy found above the restaurant. No matter which room fits just right, chef Bernie Kantak's restaurant is ready to help create a custom menu for your event.

Olive & Ivy Restaurant + Marketplace

7135 E. Camelback Road, Scottsdale
Part of the Fox Restaurant Concepts family, Olive & Ivy Restaurant + Marketplace is located on the Scottsdale Waterfront, and features two private dining venues: the Gallery Room and the Gold Room. The latter is an intimate room with one round table seating up to 12, while the Gallery Room can host up to 45 guests for receptions and 35 for seated events. Both rooms are available for full restaurant buyout. The patio and main dining room are likewise available for larger groups, with capacity for 70 to 100 guests.

Dick’s Hideaway

6008 N. 16th St.
Serving authentic New Mexican cuisine, Dick’s Hideaway is a virtually unmarked restaurant tucked away in the shopping plaza on the northwest corner of 16th Street and Bethany Home Road. The wine rack-adorned private dining room at this Richardson’s restaurant establishment can seat up to 27 guests for a business meeting, intimate dinner or holiday party. The room offers audio and visual equipment, a fireplace and a private restroom. And if Dick’s is booked, Richardson’s restaurant sister location Rokerij also offers private dining options.

The recently renovated Pedal Haus Brewery in downtown Tempe offers a casual option. For groups of 20 or less, the brewer recommends calling the taphouse to be added to the call-ahead waitlist. For groups of more than 20, Pedal Haus offers space ranging from a private room to the patio available for booking. The brewery’s Chandler and Phoenix locations are likewise available to book for private events.

Arboleda

15345 N. Scottsdale Road, K1-100, Scottsdale
The Mediterranean restaurant at Scottsdale Quarter offers a variety of private options for 16 to 80 guests. Arboleda has three indoor private dining rooms and two patio options. The interior spaces are punctuated by electric blue accent walls and chandeliers. The Front Private Dining Room accommodates 16 to 25 guests, ideal for more intimate gatherings. Arboleda's Full Room can set up to 50 or host 80 for a reception. Outside, the South Patio can seat 35 or host 50 people standing. The covered space has an outside bar, heaters for cooler months and misters for the summer heat.

The Henry

4455 E. Camelback Road, Suite B100
Those looking for private dining options in Arcadia can try The Henry, a contemporary American eatery located on the southeast corner of 44th Street and Camelback Road. A Fox Restaurant Concepts location, the Henry offers four event space options. The North Private Room seats 30, or up to 35 for receptions, and includes patio access. The South Private Room seats 50, or 75 for receptions, and is more ideal for business events. The north and south private rooms can also be combined for 100-guest receptions, and the Private Kitchen can seat up to 20 guests for live cooking demonstrations.

Celebrity chef Angelo Sosa’s restaurant at the JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort + Spa pays homage to his aunt, while infusing elements of the Sonoran Desert – from the ingredients themselves to imbuing them with flavor from the wood-fired grill. Tia Carmen has a number of indoor and outdoor dining spaces that can accommodate 32 to 100 guests. Sosa’s neighboring Asian restaurant Kembara likewise has private dining options that range from a chef’s table experience for 20 to receptions on the patio for up to 200.


The Yard at Farmer Arts District

149 S. Farmer Ave., Tempe
The Yard at Farmer Arts District features The Showcase Room, which offers three event space options, including the entire 4,235-square-foot room, which can seat up to 200 and host 325 for a reception. The Gallery can seat up to 88, or host 125 for a reception and the Broadway seats up to 100 and 150 for a reception. All three venues offer a private bar and audio/video equipment. You can also reserve the entire spot, including the Culinary Dropout Tempe location, for an event hosting up to 1,000 guests.

The Arrogant Butcher

2 E. Jefferson St., #22-111
There’s a private dining room in downtown Phoenix’s CityScape; you just have to head to The Arrogant Butcher. The News Room seats up to 55 guests and 60 for reception-style events, while the Office & Boardroom can sit up to 40 guests combined — 22 for the Office alone and 18 for the Boardroom. Both spaces are outfitted with audio and visual equipment. The patio can also be reserved for a 100-guest reception.

If you want your holiday party to be ultra-glam, then you're probably looking for a place like Dominick's Steakhouse in Scottsdale. The restaurant has a handsome but modern interior that's decorated in rich browns and offers a rooftop patio and several cozy dining spaces. For private parties, you can choose from options including the restaurant's wine room, executive room and library — all of which come with audio and visual capabilities.

Bottega Pizzeria Ristorante

19420 N. 59th Ave., Glendale
Bottega Pizzeria Ristorante is home to about 1,200 square feet of private dining space. The main room seats up to 90 and has a dedicated bar and private entrance. The patio can accommodate up to 60 additional guests. The restaurant notes, “no party is too big or too small” and that it will customize menus.

If you're looking for a taste of Brazil, as well as a private dining area, Galeto Brazilian Steakhouse has a few options. The all-you-can-eat Brazilian steakhouse offers 16 types of meat as well as private and semi-private rooms. The Miolo and Villa rooms are ideal for small wedding rehearsal dinners or business meetings, while the Pampas Room seats 20 (60 if you combine with the Miolo and Villa rooms). Lastly, the Lapa Room can accommodate 100 total guests, with access to the patio bar.

Litchfield's

300 N. Wigwam Blvd., Litchfield Park
Whatever the occasion, Litchfield's is ready to accommodate in the West Valley. The private dining options at The Wigwam's restaurant offer two private, reservable rooms. The rest of the resort has some private dining choices, too. There's Red’s for lunchtime events, plus the Arizona Room, the Wigwam Bar and 11 additional outdoor dining venues.

The eatery inside the iconic midcentury modern Hotel Valley Ho offers several private dining options. The Rosie Room – named for Rosalyn “Rosie” Bennett Lyon, matriarch and recipe imparter of the hotel’s family owners – hosts up to 24. The space is a hidden room that features midcentury modern design details as well as sound and a TV. If you’re seeking more space, ZuZu’s patio can host up to 50, the entire restaurant can be booked for up to 75 or the lobby can play host to receptions of up to 100 people.

The Orchard Phoenix

7100 N. 12th St.
The team from Luci’s at the Orchard and Orchard Tavern also hosts events on the Phoenix property. The Orchard Phoenix features several indoor and outdoor options, from the intimate West Patio space for up to 16 guests, to taking over the entire lawn and bar to host 350 guests. Indoor options include the 20-person wine cellar, which features a long communal dining table and a large TV for meetings or presentations. The main dining room can host 50 to 75 guests and includes a private patio.
