This October, Elevate Coffee Co. is celebrating 14 years in business. Located at The Shops at Norterra, the brick-and-mortar coffee shop is operated by business partners Troy Hailpern, Alan Larsen and Hope Church, a local Christian church.

“Back in early 2010, the community of Hope Church got together and involved several community leaders and designed a safe place to meet, to gather and a coffee shop was the perfect answer for that,” Hailpern says.

In the past year, the coffee company has served over 132,000 customers, hosted more than 200 meetings and featured over 80 live music performances.

“I think it's a place to gather. It's a 3,400 square foot coffee shop, which is kind of unique in this size compared to most coffee shops,” Hailpern notes.

The shop's diverse menu ranges from drinks like the iced oat milk latte to dishes like the spinach Waldorf salad, which includes chicken, fresh spinach, thinly sliced apples, crumbled feta and pecans. The currently featured fall menu includes seasonal favorites like the pumpkin pie latte, spiced brown sugar maple chai and the apple pie latte with oat milk.

However, Elevate Coffee Co. is not only recognized for its fresh, delicious drinks and food; it is also committed to being active in the community and giving back to those in need.

Since opening in 2010, Elevate Coffee Co. has helped raise over $25,000 at their Walk 4 Norterra event, enough to build two wells in Acelak and Singi, two remote villages in Uganda. Locally, they’ve partnered with local elementary schools and brought out their coffee truck to treat teachers to coffee.

What’s next for the community shop? They are broadening their business model beyond their brick-and-mortar location to enhance their presence in the Valley.

“We've kind of decided our expansion model is really to get out in the community with our mobile services," Hailpern says, referring to Elevate's coffee cart and mobile coffee trailer. And along with those mobile services, Elevate continues to serve customers at it's longstanding shop and, continuing its 14 year tradition, plans to continue sliding lattes across the bar for years to come.
