The holiday season is about two things: family drama (and embarrassment), and eating. From traditional and passed-down recipes to eggnog and Christmas cookies there will be eating. Lots of eating. For the third year in a row Chow Bella, the New Times award-winning blog on all things food, hosts “Eating Christmas” — a night featuring tales from local writers and artists that have ranged from familial and religious guilt to a hatred of ham. Storytelling starts at 7 p.m., doors open at 6, on Tuesday, December 16, at Crescent Ballroom, 208 North Second Avenue. Admission to the 21-and-over event is free, though canned food donations, benefitting St. Mary’s Food Bank, are encouraged. Call 602-716-2222, visit www.crescentphx.com, or head to Chow Bella at www.blogs.phoenixnewtimes.com/bella for details.
