Pretty Thai bistro decorated with Thai umbrellas and intricate Siamese paintings. Gracious service and excellent eats are the hallmarks here, with such specialties as roasted duck and massaman curries offered, as well as standards such as Thai toast, satay and panang. The place has really good pad Thai and pad see-ew, also. Treat yourself to sticky rice with mango for dessert when mango’s in season.

We went to the swaddee thai, 8989 E Via Linda, Scottsdale, AZ for lunch today. I had heard some good things about the restaurant from friends. We ordered the soup of the day (a passable clear chicken-cabbage) followed by pad thai and ginger chicken (2/4 spicy). The food was good, not extraordinary, but the service was awful. I found a piece of glass in my mouth (from the ginger chicken) and called it to the server's attention. Instead of making sure I hadn't swallowed glass and apologizing, the manager gave us the bill (incidentally for the ENTIRE amount, including the glass-containing ginger chicken). When we looked astonished (literally dumbstruck at his chutzpah), the manager said he would not charge us for the ginger-chicken and told us to NEVER TO COME BACK TO THE RESTAURANT !!! I have eaten at restaurants all over the world (including many diner & dives), but I have never had such an awful experience with the service.

I ate here about a year ago and it was very good. Now we were just here last weekend and I have to say it was one of the worst foods I've had in a long time. The wonton soup was rubbery, the pad thai was swimming in sauce and the duck curry was just pieces of duck grease swimming in a hot sauce. The rice was overcooked and sticky and the price was high for the quality of food we got. We won't go back!
