City Bakery

215 E. Grant St.
(at Bentley Projects)
Phoenix, AZ 85004
602-253-7200
Website
Tucked into part of a 1918 warehouse that had been renovated and turned into the cavernous Bentley Projects art gallery, City Bakery is a stylish outpost of Scottsdale’s Arcadia Farms, which also does a brisk business in feeding visitors to the Phoenix Art Museum, The Heard Museum, and the Arizona Science Center. Here, the edible attractions include gourmet salads (we’re hooked on the awesome chicken curry salad), addicting sandwiches (like the luscious veggie melt), and all kinds of freshly baked desserts, from cupcakes to scones. No wonder it’s one of downtown’s best lunch destinations.
