If our local sports-media cadre was an athletic squad, it’d be toddler-league wiffle ball. What a bunch of cowering prisses! Read the Republic, listen to KTAR, it’s all one big Chamber of Commerce love-in between the “journalists” and the teams. This is especially true of the Arizona Cardinals, an organization that – have we mentioned lately? – has only won one playoff game in the last 61 years. But as the Super Bowl champs remain champs until somebody dethrones ’em, the Cards will suck until they don’t anymore, and we, for one, ain’t afraid to say it.

The Birds’ latest attempt at getting over the hump starts with their preseason opener against the New Orleans Saints.
