No Festival Required Part 50: The Final Part

By Clay McNear

Published on November 29, 2007

Steve Weiss has labored in near-anonymity for five-plus years to bring us the best microcinema works by filmdom's unwashed underdogs. He's moving on up to the (extremely relative) big time beginning in January with his new "No Festival Required Presents" series, which will offer creations "from international directors and distributors," though it will still, he says, be targeted at the "nontraditional microcinema audience." NFR Part 50: The Final Part is a don't-look-back-in-sorrow retrospective of Weiss and audience faves, and if that's not enough to, as Weiss puts it, get your "butts in the seats," there'll be a potluck and holiday cookies.
